Congratulations! You said YES, and now it's time to celebrate! Engagement parties are a great way to share the news with your close family and friends and get everyone excited about the big day. Being engaged is such a fun exciting time and what better way to start this time off with a celebration of what is to come! I have put together some of my favorite engagement planning tips to help guide you through a fun simple party. Let’s pop the bubbly and get the party started!
Pick the Theme
There are so many new trends when it comes to celebrating engagements and it is just about what kind of party you want to throw. Here are some fun ideas to inspire you.
“I Do” BBQ : A simple backyard BBQ with all your loved ones. This is a fun simple idea for a spring or summer engagement party. Enjoy your favorite BBQ food with some Brews and add in a s'mores bar for dessert!
Donut Mind if “I Do”: A fun brunch-style party with a Donut & Mimosa station, everyone loves a good brunch.
Sip, Sip Hooray: A more cocktail-style celebration, elegant with a charcuterie spread & cocktails to celebrate the happy couple.
Falling In Love: A great theme for a Fall engagement party, this can be modern chic with an elegant feel.
Who To Invite
Typically you invite people that will be invited to the wedding. So take a moment to decide if that person will be getting a wedding invite before having them at your engagement party. Are you wanting to keep it smaller than the guest list you have planned for the actual big day? That’s okay too, having your family and close friends for a more intimate celebration is a common choice for smaller engagement parties.
When To Start Planning
Right away! There is no rule to this, but most engaged couples are so excited they throw a party pretty quickly. The sooner the better so your focus can switch over to the planning of your Big Day!
Make It Fun
Remember that this is the first step in celebrating you and your soon-to-be spouse, make sure this engagement party isn't stressful for you. It’s a celebration and time for you to be so excited for all that is to come for you as a couple. The wedding planning process can get a little stressful so take a deep breath and always remember what it all is really about, the love the two of you share.
Happy Planning!
Love,
